Boiler Repair & Replacement in Washington County, PA

Residential boiler repair, replacement and installation for homes with radiators or baseboard heat across Washington County and the South Hills. The owner does the work himself.

Not every home in Washington County heats with forced air. A lot of older homes — and some newer ones — use a boiler, heating water and sending it to radiators or baseboards instead of blowing warm air through ducts. It's a quiet, even kind of heat that a lot of homeowners swear by. We handle residential boiler repair, replacement and installation for homes in Houston, Canonsburg, Washington, McMurray, Cecil Township, McDonald, Bethel Park, Upper St. Clair, Bridgeville, South Fayette and the towns in between. You get a clear answer and a price before any work starts.

Signs your boiler needs attention

Boilers tend to give you warnings before they quit. Catching them early usually means a simpler fix.

  • Cold radiators

Some radiators stay cold, or are cold at the top while warm at the bottom.

  • Banging or gurgling pipes

Loud noises from the pipes or the boiler that weren't there before.

  • Leaks around the boiler

Puddles or dripping near the unit or the piping.

  • Pressure problems

The pressure gauge keeps dropping even after you refill the system.

  • Pilot or ignition trouble

On a gas unit, the pilot keeps going out or the burner won't light.

  • No heat at all

The radiators stay cold and the boiler won't fire.

Most of these have more than one cause, and none of them automatically mean your boiler is done for. The only way to know is to look at it, and that's exactly what we do.

Repair or replace — in plain language

A small repair on a sound boiler, we'll fix. A big repair on a unit that's near the end of its run, we'll say so. The decision always comes down to what's wrong, what repair costs, and the condition of what's already there.

We lay both options out with a price for each and let you choose. No pressure either way, and no work begins until you say go.

We install Goodman, Comfortmaker, Rheem and Mitsubishi equipment, and we're an authorized Comfortmaker dealer. Every job comes with a 1-year labor warranty.

Free estimates on new system installations and home additions. Financing available on approved credit.

Other ways to heat your home

A boiler isn't the only way to heat a home. If you're weighing your options, here are the other heating and cooling systems we work on.

A note on carbon monoxide

A gas boiler that isn't burning properly can produce carbon monoxide — you can't see it or smell it. Older homes with older gas boilers and venting are worth a careful look, especially heading into a long western Pennsylvania winter.

If your carbon monoxide alarm goes off, get everyone outside and call 911. Don't re-enter until it's been checked and cleared. Working carbon monoxide alarms on every level of your home, near sleeping areas, matter. Call us after it's safe to look at the boiler.

Gas & Carbon Monoxide Safety

Smell gas? Leave the house now. Don't flip switches or use your phone inside. Once you're outside, call 911 or your gas utility's emergency line. After the utility makes it safe, call us to fix the problem.
